While at a barbecue recently, I saw this in garage. It is not the reissue, it was the guys first skateboard. Im not big on wood decks, but it kind of makes me want to order one of the Kevin Harris re-issues. The old school freestyle guys are amazing.

Huge Penny Sticker
How cool is this...
It is life sized. I just don't know where to put it. The nice guys at Shoreline Skate Shop hooked me up with it after I had a long conversation about plastic skateboards with them.
If you are in the Redington Shores area, check them out, they have a bunch of Pennys and Nickels there.

Go away Debby the Storm or the Kryptonics Torpedo
The Kryptonics Torpedo, this is the kind of thing that happens when we can not go skateboarding.
So, some friends and I were eating lunch at a Wing House. It was next to a Wal-Mart. I usually try to avoid Wal-marts but I was bored and the weather is not going to be better any time soon so lets go see what they sell.
I saw this. It was funny. So I got it. Before anyone asks, No I do not recommend this skateboard to anyone for any reason.
Kryptonics Torpedo.
Kryptonics branded trucks and wheels. Also, the weird undersized mounting hardware that means toy, not skateboard.
MAX RIDER WEIGHT 110lbs. That is silly.
I took it for a ride in the wind between rains and it is pretty bad. I will go again for a longer ride with a wrench in my pocket to do some adjusting, but it doesn't really turn. I expected it to be too turny because I am so much over the weight limit. It was cheap and it felt cheap.
So the whole thing is kind of silly. I am all for more companies making plastic skateboards, but a 110lb weight limit makes this an unusable toy for most any of us. If someone buys this for a really young kid and is sparks interest in skateboarding and they graduate to better equipment than that is awesome. I feel it would do the opposite most of the time though, it would be much easier and much more fun to learn on equipment that is a little better. This just might frustrate kids and make them think skateboarding is harder than it really is. I also hope no one sees this and because it is plastic like a Penny and shaped kind of like a Penny, that it is the same as a Penny. For me, this will just end up on the wall as a conversation piece.

Penny Vs. Globe Bantam Vs. Nickel
Because there is a crazy storm over florida now I haven't been able to skate or take any photos for a few days. So here are some old ones that i took around the time I got the Globe Bantam and never got around to posting. Just some comparison pics of a Penny, a Globe Bantam and a Nickel. THere is more detail on my thoughts on the Bantam on this post:
and a lot more detail on my thoughts about the Penny and Nickel in lots of posts.
All three are fun. Since this pic, I have switched the Nickel's trucks over to 100mm Surf Rods and put Penny Wheels on it, just like the Penny. This has made it ride just about perfect for me. I have also swapped out the Bantams trucks a few times and am having trouble finding something just right. I have Ace 00s hangers in Indy baseplates now and they are okay, but its still just not there yet.
I did put a sheet of grip tape on the Globe as well. I am of the opinion that grip tape is needed on any of these plastic skateboards. Everyone I get I try it for a while without and it never feels right. I do ride the Penny and Nickel more than the Bantam so far, but who knows if that will change when I find the perfect trucks for the Bantam.

I saw the Ghost Dodo from @pennytimegame in real life
I was at the zoo this weekend and imagine my surprise when I saw that they had a Ghost Dodo there. I thought these were only in the Penny Time iPhone game. I asked the Ghost Dodo for tips on the Neon Seizuretown level. I can barely squeak through it on the normal mode. That level on hard mode is crazy. He was pretty quiet. Oh well, I guess I will have to just keep trying until it gets easier.

Independent Downhill Baseplates, Old School mounting!
This is really really really cool. I saw a while ago that Independent was making these downhill baseplates. They have a 2 1/4" kingpin instead of the normal 2" Thats kind of nice but the big thing is they are drilled for new and old school mounting. With the old school mounting I can do things like run Ace00 hangers on Indy baseplates on a Penny or Stereo and run Indys on Flexdex boards without having to re drill anything.
I also got some risers, and some bushings. I have not really cared for Bones Hard in the past, but as I am starting to like harder bushings again I thought I would give them another try. I got two sets because I want to try the tall ones top and bottom in the Surf Rodz Indeesz on my Penny.
Penny Nickel and Green Banana Eco Cruiser
We didn't try out any boards that were new to Nicole this trip. We just went skating and then for a sunset and dinner with our friends Jason and Kylie. Nicole is getting pretty good, and Kylie is not bad for only going out s few times either.
We took the Green Banana Eco Cruiser, Nicole's favorite board, and the Penny Nickel, one of my favorites.

I had just received a Diff case that has the mount for lenses for my phone so I took a bunch of photos with a fisheye lens. I have to use it more to decide if I like it, but it is the only secure way I have found to mount the lenses. The little magnetic rings they come with just don't cut it.

Picture Stealer
If anyone knows Chloe Buckland, please tell her that it is not okay to steal photos and try to pass them off as her own. I took these some time ago and posted them in this post titled Fish Skateboard to the Beach.
http://libertyfl.blogspot.com/2012/01/fish-skateboard-on-way-to-beach.html
Yesterday I see this Chloe Buckland has posted them on Penny's Facebook page, trying to pass them off as her own and win a Penny Skateboard. This is pretty rude, but what is even more offensive is that Chloe Buckland does not even realize that this is not a photo of a Penny Skateboard. This is a Fish Skateboard with Penny Trucks and Stereo Wheels. There are massive amounts of photos on this blog that I have taken of my Penny Skateboard and Nickel Skateboard. Chloe Buckland probably should have stolen one of these many photos if it is that important to her to try and win a skateboard through deception.
Below is a screen shot of the posts Chloe Buckland made trying to pass off my photos as her own. I will gladly take down this post if Chloe Buckland apologizes and promises not to steal anymore.

New Penny Wheels
ONE OF THE PINK ONES LOOKS LIKE A GHOST MIGHT LIVE IN IT!
Im not sure if that is good or bad.
The Penny wheels that I already have are growing on me so I just picked up these two sets last week.

And another set of 100mm Indeesz hangers because I found them at a good price and I have more narrow boards than wide boards. Now I have Indeesz on my Penny and on my Nickel.
