Re-Drilled Penny and Stereo

Only 10 mins each or so, Put in two bolts and tightened them up then drilled through the other two holes.  Everything lined up good and tightening them up pulled the bolt heads mostly into the counterbored holes that were there originally so they are a little off, but look pretty much like they did with the stock trucks.

You Too Stereo?

Just like the Penny Skateboard, the Stereo Vinyl Cruiser is drilled for their trucks which are not standard.  So no easy truck switches for either of these decks.  But I want to.  So out comes the drill and later today I should have these things set up much better.
They are not off by much but just enough so there is no way to mount standard baseplate on here.

Stereo Vinyl Cruiser

I ordered this board because I wanted to use the Surf-Rodz Indeesz on something like a Penny board or this.  It came today, here are some pics.
Look at the size of this kingpin?!? It took a 17mm wrench to turn.  Why? Who knows but you can not replace it with a standard kingpin unless you are going to jb weld the new one in.  Sooooooo, if you take a couple boards to the park, bring an extra wrench.  Who cares though, The trucks are going to be replaced anyway.

This board looks awesome.  I expected black wheels, or transparent grey from the photos before I ordered.  I was surprised when it showed up with transparent purple.  They look perfect with the green deck.

Tiny hardware? I guess all the metal they saved on these went into the kingpin, so we are even.  Hardware needs replaced with the trucks.

And a pretty cool touch, They come with a bunch of stickers and a matching pair of sunglasses.

Green Banana Lil' Nanner with Indeesz

The new Green Banana deck I got got the Surf-Rodz trucks until I decide if I want to redrill the Penny deck.  They are narrower than the Trackers I had on here so I put a set of these 66mm Zig-zags on here to make up for it a little bit.

Why Penny, Why?

Penny Skateboards are not drilled to mount standard trucks.
This is about what Penny Trucks look like.

And this is what I wanted to happen.

I got these Surf-Rodz Indeesz.  I got the 100mm because I knew they were for a mini.  I mostly wanted them for this board.

But...

If you look close, the mounting holes are off.  They are close to the old school mounting pattern, but just enough shorter not to work.  It is definitely the Penny drilling and trucks that are off, I compared them to the Indeesz and some Trackers and some Randals.  Maybe because Penny is an Australian company they use a different patern?  The Penny deck is counterbore for the hardware so redrilling will make it look screwy.  Oh well, good trucks for another board I guess.

The mailman brought some Surf-Rodz Indeesz

I got these in the mail a few days ago.  I heard they turn like crazy.  I have to say that I ordered then from East Coast Core Skates and that guy is really good at customer service.  I ordered some and immediately he emailed and said that color baseplate was out,  did I want to substitute or wait?  I replied to send any color, it was not a big deal.  I figure I am getting these to ride, not to look at.  They ship the next day and get here pretty quick.  When they arrive, there is a hand written note saying thanks for the support and he threw in an extra set of bushing seats in another color.  Nice guy and great customer service.  Unrelated to these trucks, but the guy from Green Banana Skateboards has followed up both times after I have bought decks from him.  Some of these small skateboard shops and companies really things down.

Anyway, another post to follow, but for now I am going to get these together and go for a ride.

Green Banana Lil Nanner

Just got this new deck set up, It is a Green Banana Lil Nanner.  I like the other Green Banana that I have and got this one to compare with the Penny and Flexdex decks I have in this size range.  It is set up with some older tracker B-2s, with Khiro inserts roadside and Venom barrels boardside.  Angled risers also, with the front wedged and the rear dewedged.  The wheels are Kyrptonics Classics, 62mm 78a, with bones reds.

Nash Sidewalk Surfer

At one time this was it.  I could live with the deck and trucks if there was nothing else but I tried to ride this thing around the block and clay wheels make me grumpy.  It is not possible to ride this on bumpy parts of the road.  Either roads used to be smoother or those skaters from back then were way crazy.

Tracker Stimulators

These are old Tracker Stimulators.  They came out of a set of Tracker Aggro Quicktracks.
The cone is 7/16ths tall and goes from 3/4" to 1" wide
The stepped one is 5/8" tall with the extra wide part being about 3/8" of that.  The stepped in part is an inch across and the wide part is about an inch and a quarter.

Tracker Aggro Quicktracks

Damn Damn Hell Damn.
I found these Trackers with the one solo coffin cut wheel.  But like the wheel I cant ride them because the baseplate on one of the trucks was broken.  I remember getting these, I think they were the third set of trucks I had.  I remember the baseplate broke really quickly, and I think that was a common problem with these.  The upside is the bushings, I now have 2 sets of yellow stims that are old as hell, but were barely ridden.  I am going to get them in some trucks this week and see how they feel.
