Re-Drilled Penny and Stereo

Only 10 mins each or so, Put in two bolts and tightened them up then drilled through the other two holes.  Everything lined up good and tightening them up pulled the bolt heads mostly into the counterbored holes that were there originally so they are a little off, but look pretty much like they did with the stock trucks.

  1. Hi, I'm looking into getting either the stereo vinyl or penny as a cruiser. Which one is made better? Thanks.

  2. So far I think the decks are of equal quality. I would give the edge to the Penny in the fit and finish of the parts that come stock on the complete. If you are going to want to get better parts eventually then I would save the $20 price difference and get the Stereo and put the 20 towards some midtracks or buy some better bearings and hardware. Plus you get some matching sunglasses. If you are going to keep it stock for any length of time I think the penny is a better choice. Let me know if you have any specific questions on either or want to see any pics from different angles. Either way, let me know which you get.

  4. I do not have any here to try it out but I would say they will. Pennys have a standard kingpin. So any bushings should fit. The Stereo has the bigger kingpin so they may or may not fit on those. I am not real big on Doh Dohs, but admittedly it has been some years since I have ridden a set. If you get some let me know how they work out for you.

  5. Which bushings do you prefer, I need cheap soft bushings.

  6. Khiros are the lowest Price good quality bushings I use. If you look around you will find them for $3-4 for 1 truck.

  7. Which rides smoother, better for cruising and better quality? I don't really care of the free gifts.. and don't have a budget.

  8. Stock, go with the Penny, decks being equal but a little better fit and finish on all parts.
Even better though, if you have no budget concerns pick the one you like the deck better on and upgrade the parts. Then you have a cruiser that is far better than either stock and perfect for you.
