Booze Cruise
This thing was a lot of fun. Lots of people, lots of riding. Everyone I talked to were really cool and friendly guys and girls. I'm down to do this anytime there is one. Hopefully I don't take as many hard spills in the Bro Bowl next time.
Yeah, the Bro Bowl is awesome. I rode a Penny with Surf Rodz Indeesz trucks on it. That was the wrong board for a long ride, but with the Surf Keeyz in them they just feel so good.
I live about 20 mins from there. I remembered that it was there because of this post. I had always seen it at a glance as I got onto I-4, but I've never checked it out seein as I've only been skatin since September of last year. I'll definitely have to check it while on spring break this week. How did the Penny work in the bowl?
The Penny was fun but a little too small. Next time I will take something a little bigger and definitely with harder bushings. Being that close you have to check it out, it is nothing like a regular park.
I need to go down there while I'm down for spring break this week. I'm runnin a Khiro reds bottom with the stock yellow short cones(the ones that came with the Stereo) on top right now. I love that setup, and I don't have anything else with me while I'm down here. Hope it's not too soft for the Bro Bowl. I know people usually run stiffer for parks.
Well, I made the trip today. It was fun. I'm not confident enough to try and pull any tricks without grip tape (probably not even with grip tape) so I just dropped in from the top of the run in quite a bit. It was fun. The setup ended up workin just fine. I just kinda weaved my way in and out of the humps and around the bowl, just kinda experimenting with my first "park" experience. It was pretty fun, especially gettin some speed around the outer edge of the bowl. On my last run I ate it. It wasn't bad at all, but I hit my hip on the same spot I had hit it last week while longboarding. I know how you feel. Great little piece of history, that bro bowl.
