My inside skateboard.

This is ridiculous, but you know.  Sometimes you need to skate over to the fridge for another beer or skate to that bathroom in the middle of the night.  Here is my new set up for that.
Cadillac Wheels that I have had forever, mostly because my floor is smooth and these are too small for me to ride a lot outside.  Also the slowest, cheapest, genericest bearings I had.  Mostly because I dont want to go to fast.  Its a tight turn between the bedroom and bathroom through the kitchen and the slowness will help me not crash into the refrigerator when half asleep.

GFH little trucks.  These things are adorable.

GLOBE!

Globe Traction pads on the top.  It took 2 to cover the whole thing.  Makes my feet less grumpy if I happen to be barefoot.

Flexdex Retrodex deck.  nice and short, but wide enough that there is no foot bite with the narrow wheels and trucks.
Silly or not, I now have a dedicated inside the house skateboard.  Awesome.

  1. Hey man,

It seems that you have both the Bantam and Stereo Vinyl. I'm a complete beginner and just want a board to speed up my commute. Also want the board to be small to carry on the subway easily. I'm 6ft tall and shoe size 10. What would you recommend between those two options?

    Thanks!

    1. I usually say get the one you like better and you will ride it more. Since you are a beginner, most beginners say the bigger the board the easier, so you might want to go with the Bantam as it is a little longer and wider.

    1. They are both cool little boards. I would usually put trucks a little wider on either of them, but the GFH will work fine.

  3. Hello!
You may or may not remember helping me decide which plastic cruiser to get, but if not I need your help again anyway because you are wise.
Basically, I have really enjoyed the stereo vinyl and I've had a lot of fun on it but I would like to purchase a new board.
I find the Stereo was too slim for me and there were occasions where I've stood on the wheel and fallen off which is pretty lame. This may just be poor technique on my part but still I would like a wider board.
I was thinking a wooden board would be cool but I live in the UK so maybe wood would not be the best option as it rains quite a lot. I want something preferably with grip on the deck but I appreciate I can buy grip.
I found the vinyl was very responsive to turning which I enjoyed, so I would still like that.
I am a student so I can't spend too much, so the cheaper the better really and I have never custom made a board if you were to suggest a set-up BUT if it all came to a reasonably priced package I may look into it but it would be preferable if you knew a board that was suited to my ideals.
So yeah, basically I would just like your advice as to which board you would guide me towards. I don't really have any issues with the length of the board as I would still like quite a small board lengthways but I just want some more width. I will mainly be using it for cruising around campus and towns and things so want a nice smooth ride. The pavement of the UK is pretty irregular so a board that would be able to deal with the transition between surfaces well would be cool.
Sorry this is so long but I remember how helpful you were last time so your input would be greatly valued, thank you!

  4. In fact, the flexdex retrodex looks pretty cool - would you recommend it for what I'm asking for?

  5. Sorry for another comment but death wobbles kinda scare me too. I know it's probably unavoidable when at speed but is there a way to lessen the wobbles? Or is there a board that just doesn't wobble too much?
