There should have already been my thoughts here about the Penny skateboard I obtained some days ago. But, I went into the hospital instead. Wheee. I had to get my appendix out again. Yeah, I know. But the first appendix remover didn't do it right so I have to have it out again. So instead for the last week I have only had this IV cart machine thing to ride. It sucks. It turns too much and is slow on carpet. I like the penny skateboard more so far.
The upside to the drug cart is that for about a 3-4 day section there when I was getting dillouted every couple of hours I thought I could see flashes of what the tv makers were thinking when
They made the story if I blinked during the show. I rather have better wheels anyway I think.
I'm all excited to ride the new Penny Skateboard at the bro bowl in Tampa tomorrow. Then ride the Flexdex grenade. Then ride the Flexdex 29. And especially the Green Banana. But guess what. I had my appendix out in April and after lots of pain all night I find out the "doctor" missed a piece and I have to do the surgery and recovery all over again. Damn damn hell damn.
I ordered this Penny Skateboard 2 Fridays ago and after what seemed like 100 years, it finally showed up today. I had a Fosters to celebrate.
I got black with red wheels. My normal schedule is to take my dog for a skate/walk twice a day, for about a mile each. Although usually Liberty slows down and gets carried the better part of the way. Point is this little guy will lots of miles by next week. Then if I can get out skating with the other locals this weekend, I will post a review of how it compares to the other smaller, non wood decks I have.
This hangs in my friends garage. It seems fun, but the bearings are in pretty bad shape. I have a Penny Skateboard on the way that should be similar to this, just a little shorter, but with modern wheels and bearings. I do not know about the trucks, or if they use standard mounting holes. I will give them a try but have a set of Halftracks here that need a home. Mmmmm... Penny deck, Tracker Midtracks, maybe some 62mm Bennett Alligators. It sucks waiting on shipping.
I set this Vallely reissue up with as many of the parts I could find from my first skateboard.
Pretty cool deck, the front riser, bushings and the bearings are the newish parts.
The Venture trucks, Rat Bones, Cell Block III and the Bridgebolts are from the first board I ever had.
That board also had a nosebone, tailbone, rails and some Rip Grip, I think I need to add that. I have some rails and Rip Grip, Internet shopping, here I come.
These things are jerks. I bought like 10 of these and have lost about 8 by throwing them at the driveway as hard as I can. Damn neighbors lawnmower is like a superball magnet.
